Ouch! Take two...
Well, I got my second round of shots today... They didn't hurt any less than they did last time. :) Kevin was able to start his vaccines today as well. I'm only one series of shots away from being done with them. I don't love pain.
Hey Lady! Sorry about the shots. They are no fun. But I guess the alternatives are really no fun either:) Praying for court succes first time through! It is SO close. Are you starting to "freak" out yet? On my knees-Danielle
Our first reason is that GOD called us to go. There are approximately 4.5 million orphans due to AIDS. One in six children die before they turn 5. One in 10 children die before they turn 1. Millions still die of starvation every year. Half the children of Ethiopia will never have an opportunity to attend school. Almost all girls in Ethiopia will never attend school. Some parts of Ethiopia still practice female circumcision. 82% of the population survives on less than 1 dollar a day. Only 1/4 of the entire population has access to safe drinking water. Ethiopia's doctor to children ratio is 1 to 24,000. Children and family are honored above all else in Ethiopia. 1 in 3 people are HIV+; the average life expectancy is between the ages of 37-42. Many people do not know the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will have the opportunity to introduce two Ethiopian children to Him! If I lived in Ethiopia, I may have died this year!

We are on a journey (or should I say, a roller coaster ride?) to adopt two beautiful Ethiopian children from the Kamashi orphanage. Simbona is our rugged, handsome hunk of sweetness, and Sena (pronounced SAY-na) is our tiny little button-nosed beauty.
Sena has been diagnosed with a heart problem, and we are not exactly sure to what extent. All we know is that she has a hole (or perhaps more than one) in her heart. We have been told these problems can be healed by the tissue simply growing together. Or, it can also require surgery. We are so thankful to be living in a country where she can get the medical attention that she needs to grow up healthy and strong! We are praying that God will heal her heart completely, and we ask for your prayers as well.
